R e t i r e m e n t s E va J o n a s , librarian o f th e M useum o f Com­ parative Zoology at H arvard University (HU), has retired after 30 years of service to HU. She began her career at HU as a lab assistant in the Biological Laboratories after leaving h e r native Czechoslovakia. In 1973 Jonas w as nam ed head teaching assistant in Biology in th e Summ er School an d also ap p o in ted reference librarian in th e C abot Science Library. In 1975 sh e b e ­ cam e associate o f Adams H ouse (an academ ic house w here students, faculty members, and tu­ tors live), and in 1990 becam e its acting master. She w as appointed librarian o f the Museum of Comparative Zoology in 1978 (later nam ed the Ernst Mayr Library o f th e M useum o f Com­ parative Zoology). H e n r y L atzke has retired as director o f library and m edia services at Concordia University in River F orest, Illinois, after 39 years of service. Latzke joined C oncor­ dia’s faculty as assistant librarian a n d director o f audiovisual services in I960 an d becam e di­ rector o f library and au­ d io v isu a l serv ices in 1971. During the 1970s, h e w as p resident o f LI­ Henry Latzke BRAS, a consortium o f private liberal arts colleges in the Chicago area. H e also serv ed as p re sid e n t o f Private Aca­ demic Libraries in Illinois an d held office with, o r served as a com m ittee m em ber for th e Met­ ropolitan Library Assembly, th e S uburban Li­ brary System, the Illinois College an d Research A ssociation/Illinois B oard for H igher E duca­ tion Liaison C om m ittee, a n d th e Illinois Li­ brary C om puter System O rganization. Latzke has b e e n recognized b y th e Lutheran E duca­ tio n A ssociation w ith the Ellen W aldschm idt Service A w ard fo r his lengthy service to the organization. H e h as also receiv ed th e Mel G eorge A w ard from LIBRAS fo r outstan d in g w o rk in prom oting library cooperation. E va S te in e r M o s e le y has retired as curator of manuscripts at th e Schlesinger Library after 27 years o f service to Radcliffe College. Moseley em igrated from Vienna in 1939 and com pleted h e r studies in th e U nited States. From 1955- 71 she h eld various library an d editorial posi­ tions. She cam e to th e Schlesinger Library as manuscript assistant in 1971 and was appointed curator a year later. In the early 1970s, Moseley led the library’s efforts to discover, collect, and m ake accessible sources for w o m en ’s history. She also helped to create the Harvard/Radcliffe Archives G ro u p (1979), fo u n d e d th e B oston Archivists G roup, w as new sletter ed ito r an d president of New E n g la n d Archivists, w as Fel­ low o f th e Society o f A m erican Archivists in 1987 after serving on its council, and she helped fo u n d th e A cadem y o f Certified Archivists. H er articles have a p p eared m any publications including th e R adcliffe Q uarterly a n d the A m erican Archivist. M ir ia m P a lm has retired from her position as principal acquisitions librarian at Stanford Uni­ versity (SU). She b e g a n h e r career at SU 27 years ago w h en she w as hired as a librarian in the Catalog Departm ent. She has trained many staff m em bers in pro ced u res d esig n ed to e n ­ sure solid service, an d she is a trusted liaison to the collections and public service programs. D e a t h s P a t F lo w e r s , reference librarian in the Rivera Library o f th e U niversity o f California, Riv­ erside (UCR), has died. She w orked in the Tor­ rance an d O ntario Public Libraries a n d for the Inland Library System in San Bernardino, Cali­ fornia.
