St o f f l e , assistant chancellor for edu­ cational services, U niversity of W isconsin- Parkside (Kenosha, WI 53141), is the forty-fourth president of the Associ­ ation of College and R esearch L ib raries. During her one-year term of office, she will preside over the ACRL Board of Directors and the A CRL E xecu tive C om m ittee. She w ill chair the ACRL Con­ ference Program Plan­ ning Committee for the 1983 ALA Annual Con­ ference in Los Angeles C arla J . Stoffle and will plan A CRL’s major program at the conference. As president of the division, Stoffle will repre­ sent ACRL on the ALA Los Angeles Conference Program Com m ittee. She will also represent ACRL and ALA in their relations with other or­ ganizations. Stoffle has been an active member of ACRL, serving as a member of the Bibliographic Instruction Section s Program and Executive Committees, as chair of the College Libraries Section, and as a member of the 1980 Academic or Research Librarian of the Year Award Com­ mittee. She has co-authored two workbooks deal­ ing with bibliographic instruction in subject dis­ ciplines. J o y c e B a l l , university librarian at California State University (Sacramento, CA 95819), has been elected vice-president/president-elect of the Association of College and Research Libraries. The 1982 election re ­ sults showed 1,141 votes for Ball and 1,120 for David H. Stam, An­ drew W. Mellon direc­ tor of the Research Li­ braries, New York Pub­ lic Library. As vice-president/ p re sid e n t-e le ct of ACRL, Ball will serve on the ACRL Board of Jo y c e Ball D irectors and the ACRL Executive Com­ mittee. She will chair the ACRL Conference Pro­ gram Planning Committee for the 1984 Annual Conference in Dallas. She will represent ACRL on the ALA Appointments Committee, the ALA Planning and Budget Assembly, and the ALA Conference Program Planning Committee for the 1984 conference. At the end of the 1983 Annual Conference, she will become ACRL’s forty-fifth president. Ball has contributed to ACRL as a director-at- large on the ACRL Board of Directors, a member of the College and Research L ibraries Editorial Board, and a member of the Review Panel for Contributed Papers for the 1978 and 1981 ACRL National Conferences. She also served as presi­ dent of the Nevada Library Association in 1978 and received a special citation from that associa­ tion in 1980. The results of the ACRL elections follow.
