Article I. Nam e Section 1. The nam e of this organization shall be the Extended Campus Library Services Section of the Association o f College and Research Libraries, a Division o f the American Library Association. Article II. Object Section 1. T h e p rim ary objectives o f th e Sec­ tio n shall b e to ad v an ce e x te n d e d cam p u s li- b rarian sh ip a n d to fo ster a n d sh are inform a­ tio n o n e x te n d e d cam p u s library services. It shall b e th e fu rth er p u rp o s e o f this Section to c o n trib u te to library service a n d librarianship th ro u g h p rogram s, lectures, an d publications a n d to re p re se n t e x te n d e d c a m p u s librarians. Article III. Membership Section 1. Any m em ber o f the Association of Col­ lege and Research Libraries m ay select m em ber­ ship in the Extended Campus Library Services Sec­ tion. Every personal m em ber of the Section has the right to vote and is eligible to hold office. Article IV. Officers Section 1. Officers. T he officers o f this Section shall be: chair, v ice-chair/chair-elect, im m edi­ ate p a st chair, a n d secretary. Section 2. Terms o f Office. T h e vice-chair will serve successively fo r o n e y e a r as vice-chair, chair, a n d im m ediate p a st chair. T he secretary shall serve for tw o years. All term s o f office shall b eg in at th e ad jo u rn m e n t o f th e A nnual C onference. Section 3- Vacancies. C h a ir a n d vic e -c h a ir/ chair-elect. If th e offices o f b o th ch air a n d vice­ ch air b e c o m e v acan t w ithin th e sam e year, th e E xecutive C om m ittee shall d esig n ate o n e o f its m em b ers to act as ch air until a ch air is duly ri elected. At th e n ex t election, tw o can d id a te shall b e elected , o n e to tak e th e office o f chai nigm m ediately an d to serve for o n e year, the o th e to serve as vice-chair/chair-elect. Secretary. If th e office o f secretary beco m e vacant, a secretary shall b e e le c te d at th e ne e lec tio n fo r a tw o -y ear term . A m e m b e r o f th Executive C om m ittee shall b e a p p o in te d by th chair to serve as interim secretary until the elec tio n takes place. Article V. Executive Committee Section 1. Composition. There shall be an Exec tive Committee consisting of the officers o f the Se tion and tw o elected members-at-large. In additio the chairs of the standing committees shall serve a voting members. The chair o f the Section shall serv as chair o f the Executive Committee. Section 2. Term s o f Office. T h e elec ted m em b ers-at-large serve for tw o years w ith o n e n e m e m b e r e le c te d e a c h year. Section 3- Vacancies. If a m em ber-at-larg resigns, the chair, subject to th e a p p ro v a l o th e Executive C om m ittee, shall a p p o in t a su cesso r to co m p lete th e u n e x p ire d term . Section 4.
