Brittle offers preservation photocopies Brittle, the preservation photocopy service pro vided by Brian Baird of the University of Kan sas, is still going after more than two years. Brittle operates through a mail list, which distributes lists of titles to be photocopied. Titles are usu ally offered for one month, giving participants a chance to request copies. The more copies re quested per title, the lower the cost per copy. Participants receive their requested copies and invoices directly from the photocopier in two- to-three months. Participants may also submit titles to the mail list if they are sure they have no copyright restrictions. The copies are made on permanent/durable paper and have a high-qual ity binding. For more information, contact Brian J. Baird, preservation librarian, University of Kansas Libraries, 502 Watson Library, Lawrence, KS 66045-2800; phone: (785) 864-3568; fax: (785) 864-5311; e-mail:brited@raven.cc.ukans. edu.
