D avis has retired after 46 years o f service to S outhern University a n d A&M Col­ lege in B aton Rouge, Louisiana. She joined th e S outhern Library staff in S ep tem b er 1952 as an instructor. Davis has serv ed in various capaci­ ties in th e library: assistant cataloger, film li­ brarian, 1952-55; assistant circulation librarian, 1955-60; assistant reference librarian, 1960-64; circulation librarian, 1964-68; black heritage li­ brarian a n d university archivist, 1968-84; ref­ e re n c e librarian, 1984-86; art a n d architecture lib rarian /referen œ librarian, 1986-98. She has m a d e m any contributions in Black Studies, in­ cluding th e p ro p o sal for a n d organization o f the core Black Heritage Collection at Southern. Kathryn J o h n s o n has retired from S outhern University an d A&M College in B aton Rouge, Louisiana, after 28 years o f service. Jo h n s o n b e g a n h e r career at S outhern as a cataloger. She th e n serv ed as h e a d o f serials, h e a d of circulation, a n d bin d ery /catalo g librarian. In 1982, sh e w as n a m e d acquisitions librarian, a p osition sh e h eld until 1986, w h e n sh e w as n a m e d collection d e v e lo p m e n t librarian. In 1987, Jo h n s o n b e c a m e a reference librarian, a n d in 1992, h e r title w a s c h a n g e d to h e a d of reference a n d team leader. She has serv ed o n the University A cadem ic H onors standing com ­ m ittee since 1982. Marcia J. Myers, director o f libraries at East­ e rn K entucky U niversity (EKU) in R ichm ond, h a s a n n o u n c e d h e r p la n s to retire in J u n e 1999 after 35 y ears o f library serv ice. She b e g a n h e r career at NSU in 1970 as a librarian in th e Interlibrary Center, b ecam e hum anities reference librarian in 1973, a n d retu rn ed to th e Interlibrary C enter as its h e a d in 1985.
