Casserly has been appointed dean and director of libraries at the University at Albany (UA)-SUNY. Casserly joined the University at Albany Libraries in 2001 as assistant director for collections. She was subsequently promoted, expanding her leadership to include both collections and user services. Prior to joining to UA, Cas- serly was head of collection development at the University of Maine and at William Pat- erson University. Her research, presented in both articles and book chapters, focuses on collection management and scholarly com- munications. She has served on and chaired various ALCTS and RUSA committees and is currently a member of the Editorial Board of Library Resources and Technical Services. Carole Ann Fabian is now director of the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library at Columbia University Libraries/Information Services. Kathleen “Kats” Gustafson has been ap- pointed dean of library and student learning support at the Rio Hondo College Library in Whittier, California. Reid, dean of the library and assistant to the president for special proj- ects at California State University (CSU)-San Marcos, has retired after 43 years as a li- brarian. Since 1989, when CSU-San Marcos was founded, she led the efforts to pro- vide library services while helping develop a campus that today has more than 9,000 students. Within ACRL, she chaired the nominations and appointments commit- tee (1992), sat on the C&RL News Editorial Board (1996–99), and assisted in planning four national conferences.
