Tr.H. i>£^ CHILDREN, SINCE Jesus Christ, out* Lord and Saviour, has declared in his word that you are of the king- dom of heaven, you muft reafonably fuppofe that your parents and guar- dians are defirous of inducing you, by every proper method, to apply your minds to ftudy thofe fcriptures which contain a revelation of and concerning that ever glorious and bleffed kingdom to which you be- long. For this purpofe the following queftions and anfwers are compiled into this little book, and for the fame purpofe it is now put into your hands. By committing thefe queftions and anfwers to memory, with the book, chapter and verfe, it is believed a good beginning will be made in a profitable ftudy of the fcriptures, which contain a treafure of heavenly wifdom more valuable than all the riches of the earth. IV Should this be realifed in any confiderable degree, as a ccnfequence arifing from this little work, and the riling generation be led thereby to efteem thofe fcriptures which too many, both old and young, neglect, the author, who is taught by Christ to love little children, will receive the moll ample reward for his la- bors.
