Bocock, Speaker of the House of Representatives : Sir: In answer to the resolution of the House of Representatives, adopted on the 9th ultimo, requesting the Secretary of the Treasury to inform the House what amount of claims from each of the States has been paid, or allowed, under the act of June 14, 1864, "to pro- vide for the establishment and payment of claims for certain descrip- tions of property taken or informally impressed for the use of the army," I have the honor herewith to submit the report of the Second Auditor, furnishing the information required.
