State of Connecticut BY HIS EXCELLENCY WILBUR L. CROSS GOVERNOR A # rur lantafiult In accordance with the Statute which thus pro- vides, I hereby designate Monday, February 15th, as filairte ſilenturial Bau Our historical literature is replete with phrases and slogans which have been the inspiration of our youth for high emprise. Not the least of these are the ringing words, “Remember the Maine!” In no spirit of truculence, but rather with that sense of justice and service in the cause of human freedom which has made the soul of America great, there was quick response to the challenge of tyr- anny and oppression. In recalling the chivalry of that day and time, we help to gird our Nation with the virtues of unselfishness upon which rest the enduring foundation of peace, prosperity and COIntentment. Given under my hand and seal of the State at the Capitol, in Hartford, this twenty-fifth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two and of the independence of the United States the one hundred and fifty-sixth. By His Excellency's Command: Syca. Zºº, ºw Secretary. 4. º,23* > - tº 2 –54 ºff
