The bungalow is the most typical of California homes. It is practical, con-
venient, inexpensive and particularly pleasing in appearance. It meets alike
the requirements of city and suburban property, and is the most marketable
type of dwelling built today.

VVESTWOOD PARK is a restricted residence park for the man of moderate
means who appreciates a home amid surroundings which will always remain
agreeable—who insists upon having desirable neighbors—and who demands
that, come what may, his home shall be protected by regulations which
keep the value of his property intact. Accordingly we have provided careful
but sensible restrictions to preserve the beauty of WESTWOODPARK through
simple regulations rather than by costly buildings.

To maintain a uniform building line at WEST-WOOD PARK all houses shall
be set back from the sidewalk a distance of ten feet. Fences, too, shall be of
a uniform height and a specified distance from the sidewalk line. Garages
may be built, but on the rear half of the lot, unless beneath and forming a
part of the dwelling. Bungalows shall cost not less than $1800, except on
Miramar Avenue, where the minimum for one-story buildings is $2 500. On
two-story buildings the established minimums are $3 500 on Miramar Av-
enue and $2800 elsewhere.

California’s highways, and many miles of roadway stand as examples of the
high character of road construction this firm has executed. Their experience
in road work covers a period of 20 years. Today they have permanently up-

amounting to a million dollars a year.

 

In point of speed the most noteworthy contract executed in California was

The largest contract ever closed by Blanchard 8: Brown, Inc., and the larg-
est single contract ever awarded in San Francisco, is that of WESTWOOD
PARK. It represents street paving work to the extent of 6 50,000 square feet,
and sidewalks covering an area of 2 50,000 square feet. Armored curbs, sew-
er mains, side sewers and all street work are under standard specifications
and are being installed by Blanchard & Brown, Inc., at a cost of about
$200,000.
